Capstick Waste Management is a family owned business, which was first established in 1946 as waste paper merchants. We initially offered collections of waste paper, cardboard and used animal feed bags, which we then baled and sold, onto the mills for recycling. We have a depot on the White Lund Industrial Estate at Morecambe, where we bale for recycling several hundred tons per week.

In 1981 we developed a complete waste management service to include both recycling and waste for landfill.

Over the many years our company has developed expertise in recovering waste for recycling, thus minimizing waste and costs and this has enabled us to become the largest recycling and waste management company in the area.

Capsticks have waste recycling and disposal schemes operating in businesses, schools, hospitals and universities in the Lancashire and Cumbria areas, and only recently won a five year contract for the Morecambe Bay Hospital Trust, servicing 5 hospitals.



As a long established company, the challenge for us is to bring to the area new services that enable our customers to achieve reduced waste costs, meet environmental standard and government legislation. To incorporate new markets for recycling previously land filled waste and the changing demands of our customers.

Our most recent challenge was to provide a service, which would deal with the new legislation of July this year banning items from landfill, now classed as Hazardous Waste. We are pleased to say this new service is being utilised by many of our customers and we continue to market this to both existing and potential new customers.



We endeavour to provide a personal cusotmer care service, working with our customers to understand their needs. Helping and encouraging customers to move with the environmental directive.
