Hazardous Waste Disposal
Almost all businesses produce some hazardous waste, and following ‘The Hazardous Waste Regulations 2005’ it became an offence to dispose of hazardous items via your general waste container. The Environment Agency can issue fines for businesses that are in breach of the law. In England and Wales all businesses that produce over 500kg of waste a year must also register with the Environment Agency as a hazardous waste producer.
